How We choose the fuse for the 360KW PDU?
First, confirm the working voltage of the fuse through the rated working voltage of the charging pile and the charging pile module. The working voltage of the fuse must be greater than or equal to the charging pile and the charging pile module. According to the parameters, determine that the 1000VDC charging pile fuse is required.
Second,The rated current of the fuse is determined based on the maximum rated output current of the charging pile of 250A, and the rated current of the fuse is 1.5 times of the maximum rated output current of the charging pile (375A) after the correction of factors such as thermal connection, ambient temperature, air cooling, altitude, etc. Since the current distribution of fuse above 300A is mostly 300/315/350/400, Del Electronics recommends 400A fuse from the perspective of fuse service life and after many customer experiments. The fuse parameter index required for this charging post is 1000VDC 400A.
Finally,according to the TUV certification, breaking capacity, installation method and the most important cost of the fuse, the MEV-J-D20-400 1000VDC 400A European bolt type installation fuse is recommended.
The protection category of the charging pile fuse is aR part protection, which will only act when the short circuit current occurs. The relay is required to protect the overload current, so the fuse is used together with the relay in the charging pile to comprehensively protect the charging pile from harmful current.
